Introduction to Insurance Fraud for Agents
Presented by Frederick Wharton

This section introduces the insurance agent to insurance fraud, it’s definition, the effects of insurance fraud in all lines, statistical data on insurance fraud in the United States, reasons why insurance fraud is so wide spread and costly, examples of insurance fraud in all lines, the efforts to reduce insurance fraud and the role of the insurance professional. This course details various types of insurance fraud schemes and provides methods of investigating these schemes. From the basic desk top investigation to the field work conducted by outside investigators. How to prepare and utilize the evidence your investigation revealed. This course will provide the Insurance Professional with what premium fraud and application fraud is, how it is utilized to take out polices for the sole purpose of committing fraud. We will provide the indicators to the agent who then can identify possible fraud at the inception of the policy, rather than at the claims level. We will identify what the agents responsibilities are to fraud in the insurance industry.
