I. Mission Statement
To create and advance a joint program of IIA of IL and specific insurance companies for the purpose of establishing a grassroots network to effectively communicate and influence legislative and regulatory issues for the common good of the residents of the State of Illinois.
II. Purpose and Goals:
- To develop a grassroots system comprised of producers, agency employees, company, personnel, insurance customers, suppliers, and vendors;
- To identify and assist those individuals who can effectively promote our mission, including the identification of legislative candidates;
- To encourage formulation and review of legislative position papers;
- To develop a speakers bureau to disseminate information and promote future goals, and
- To develop the ability to address and react to industry legislative and regulatory issues as they arise.
III. Structure of the Committee
Initially, "Partners" will be a committee composed within the existing IIA of IL not-for-profit organization.
The Committee will be composed of a representative from each participating independent insurance company.
Three producers, in addition to the chairperson, will be appointed to the Committee.
Sub-Committees will be developed to address specific goals (i.e., elections, speakers bureau, grassroots, legislative).
The Committee will be co-chaired by a producer and a company representative. The co-chairpersons will be on an annual rotation to be elected by the membership of the Committee.
Each "Partner" representative will receive one vote on voting issues and the cumulative number of company votes will be equaled to one vote made by the chairperson representing the IIA of IL. The IIA of IL Chairperson's vote will be determined by the IIA of IL Board of Directors.
